Tips on Creating Content Your Audience Will Love

Ever slaved over a piece of content and set it live only for it to go nowhere? Or perhaps, you simply don’t know what content to create for your audience.

There’s no denying that ‘Content Is King’ but in the noisy world of content marketing, how do you create stuff your audience will love?

Become somebody’s favorite

As a personal brand entrepreneur, your goal is to become somebody’s favorite. At the very core of every successful entrepreneur is the ability to solve people’s problems. So, ask yourself are there questions your customers ask you time and time again? Give them a quick win by simply answering them in your content.

Most people searching for answers online are complete beginners when it comes to the topic they’re looking for help on. You’ll be amazed at what people don’t know about your area of expertise. Start with the basics and build up.

I like to approach this by using the 5 Ws: who, what, where, when and why. But don’t forget my favorite caveat to that list – HOW! Think about it. “How to” is a very popular search term. I’m sure you use it all the time.

People also want to know ‘what’ to do,  ‘what’ works and ‘why’ they need to do something. So here’s a quick exercise for you. Grab a piece of paper and write down three things you could create a ‘how-to’ guide for relatively easily in an afternoon of work.

That’s three pieces of useful, shareable content planned out right there. Add one more and you have a month’s worth of content. Remember you want to become somebody’s favorite. How do you do that when it comes to content creation?

  1. Be consistent – don’t let your fans down. Consistency is key to building an audience. Make sure you publish quality content regularly so your audience comes to expect it.
  2. Solve their problems and answer their questions. Your audience will love you for it. And they will tell their friends about how useful you are too – trust me!
